Visitation was May 7 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Mass of Christian Burial was May 8 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fordyce, with Rev. Greg Benkowski officiating. Burial was in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Bow Valley. Pallbearers were Mike Heimes, Phil Heimes, Ray Heimes and Tom Heimes. Amanda was born July 28, 1913, to Emil and Anna (Arens) Heimes in Bow Valley. She grew up in the Fordyce area and has spent most of her adult life in the Norfolk Regional Center, Norfolk. Survivors include a sister, Sister Medarda Heimes O.S.B., Yankton S.D.; a sister-in-law, Catherine Heimes, Yankton S.D.; and nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Edwin Heimes.
