Holcomb (PHOTO) COLERIDGE - Robinette S. Holcomb, 84, died March 27, 2001, at Park View Haven Nursing Home, Coleridge. Visitation and a prayer service, followed by an Eastern Star Service, was March 29, all at the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge. Services were March 30 at Pilgrim Congregational UCC, Coleridge, with Rev. Lisa Grant and Rev. Robert Neu officiating. Burial was in the Coleridge City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Christopher Jansen, Jonathan Jansen, Brian Rastede, Isaac Holcomb, Bill Siedschlag and Del Jansen. Honorary pallbearers were Quintin Jansen and Colby Jansen. Robinette was born March 25, 1917, to Earl H. and Nell (Grant) Sutherland in Madison. She married Donald E. Holcomb Oct. 7, 1948, in Coleridge. He died April 22, 1991. She grew up in several towns in Northeast Nebraska including Madison, Tilden, Norfolk, Belden, Coleridge and Laurel. She graduated from Laurel High Shcool in 1936, and attended two years of college. After her marriage, she and Don farmed west of Coleridge until 1989 when they moved into Coleridge. She continued to reside in her home after her husband's death until becoming a resident of Park View Haven Nursing Home April 4, 1996. She was a member of the Pilgrim Congregational UCC and its Women's Circle, Order of Eastern Star Areme Chapter #1245 and the Busy Homemakers. Survivors include two children and their spouse, Janet and Bill Siedschlag, Norfolk; Brian and Gail Holcomob, Coleridge; five grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Nan Jansen; Jonathan and Michelle Jansen; Shanna Jansen and her fiancee, Brian Rastede; Amanda Holcomb and Isaac Holcomb; and two great-grandchildren; Colby and Quintin Jansen. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Mark; and two sisters, an infant, Jean Sutherland, and Suzette Sutherland.
