She had been a resident of this community most of her life. Rev. Marcus Zill of South Sioux City officiated at the last rites and burial was in the Obert cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Burdette Anfinson, John Vogle, Raymond Blatchford, Rudolph Peterson, Wilbur Anderson and Claude Morten. Mrs. Jensen is survived by her husband, George; a daughter, Mrs. Joy Hardy of Sioux City, two sons, Joel of Sioux City, and Harvey of Randolph; her mother, Mrs. Mary Powers of Newcastle; a sister, Mrs. Albert McCalligan of Sioux City, and two brothers, John and Joe Powers of Newcastle. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Powers, Bertha Julia was born at Newcastle December 5, 1899. She was married to George Jensen in Sioux City February 26, 1919. She lived in the Obert and Newcastle communities until four years ago when the family moved to South Sioux City. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were Nick, Pete and Nels Smith of Hurley, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert McColligan and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Girad of Sioux City, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beltz of Winnebago.
