Joachimsen BLOOMFIELD- Wilbur Carl Joachimsen, 82 died October 17, 1988, at the Good Samaritan Center, Bloomfield. Services were Oct. 19, at United Methodist Church, Bloomfield, with Rev. Pat Culligan officiating. Pallbearers were Doug Schuett, Travis Schuett, Cody Schuett, Jason McCain, Kyle Joachimsen, and Trot Joachimsen. Honorary pallbearers were Tammy McCain, Amy Schuett, Teri Joachimsen, Tonya Joachimsen, Michelle Joachimsen, and Heather Joachimsen. Wilbur was born Sept. 10, 1916, to Henry and Hilda (Jurgensen) Joachimsen at Westside, Iowa. He attended country school in Knox county. He married Mary Jones March 5, 1941 in Bloomfield. The WW11 veteran served in England and France from 1942 to 1945. He farmed in the Pleasant Valley area until 1971, when he moved to Bloomfield where he was employed as Water Commissioner. He retired in 1978 and entered Good Samaritan Center in 1973. Survivors include his wife, Mary; three children, and their spouses, Jim a nd Linda Joachimsen, Hartington; Larry and Linda Joachimsen, Bloomfield; and Gayle and Larry Schuett, Welcome, Minn.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
