Kalin COLERIDGE - Nellie C. Kalin, 96, died Nov. 30, 2000, at the Park View Haven Care Center, Coleridge. Visitation was Dec. 3 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge. Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 4 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Coleridge, with Rev. John Andrews officiating. Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery, Coleridge. Pallbearers were Tony Kalin, Matt Kalin, Joshua Kalin, Jeremy Eddie, Joel Eddie and Nathan Kalin. Nellie was born June 22, 1904, to William J. and Minnie (Pearson) Doherty in Hartington. She married Stephen Kalin Feb. 26, 1924, in Hartington. He died Dec. 21, 1967. She grew up in the Hartington area and moved to the Coleridge area after her marriage. She moved into Coleridge in 1964. She worked in the kitchen and dining room at Park View Haven Care Center, Coleridge, for 20 years. She was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church, Coleridge; Christian Mothers; Hartington VFW Auxiliary Post #5283; Coleridge American Legion Auxiliary Post #114. Survivors include a son and wife, Stephen D. and Marlene Kalin, Coleridge; a sister, Rose Lauer, Hartington; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Eugene and Don Kalin; two sisters, Estelle Fiedler and Ellen Batty; a brother, Louis Doherty; and a granddaughter, Vickie Ahrendt.
