Kathol (PHOTO) YANKTON, S.D. - Loraine V. Kathol, 96, Yankton, S.D., died Aug. 7, 2001, at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton. Visitation was held Aug. 10 at the Ray, Cantrell and Wintz Funeral Home, Yankton. The funeral Mass was held Aug. 11 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Yankton, with the Rev. Rodney Farke officating. Interment was at St. Michael's Cemetery, Hartington. Pallbearers were Doug Kathol, Dana Kathol, Darrick Kathol, Duane Klinkner, Damien Kathol and Nick Whisler. Loraine was born Sept. 17, 1904, to Otto and Laura (Farnsley) Tellesen in Omaha, where she grew up. She married Raymond Kathol Oct. 12, 1927, in Omaha. Following their marriage they farmed two miles north of Hartington. They moved into Hartington in 1978. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Yankton, and a former member of the Christian Mothers. Survivors include her two duaghters, Patricia and Earl Felber, Yankton, S.D.; and Melinda and Duane Klinkner, Castle Rock, Colo.; 17 grand- children; 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray, July 12, 1983; two daughters, Marie Kaufman and Gertrude Lockman; two sons, Dennis and Dean Kathol; a grandson, Christopher Rembold; three sisters and two brothers.
