KLANDERUD RITES SUNDAY SUSTAINED BROKEN HIP LAST FEBRUARY OBERT-Funeral services for Mrs. Caroline Klanderud, 86, who died June 12 at the Wakefield Hospital where she had bene confined since last February after suffering a fractured hip, were held Sunday from Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Rev. Carl Grindberg officiating. A trio composed of Misses Yvonne Stolpe, Judy Anfinson, and Mrs. Vernon Stolpe sang "My Jesus I Love Thee", and "Sun of My Soul". Burial was made in the Obert Cemetery under the directon of Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Kenneth, Wendell, Lewis and Wesley Campbell, all grandsons of the deceased. Mrs. Klanderud was born in Norway in 1865 and came to America in 1884. December 17 of that year she was married to Peter Klanderud at Sioux City. They lived there until moving to Cedar county in 1895. Mrs. Klanderud was one of the charter members of the Lutheran Ladies Aid of Our Savior's church, having enrolled in 1903 when the group was formed. She served as president of the organization and 1939 was honored with life membership. She is survived by four children, Oscar of Obert; Arthur of Sioux Falls, Carl of Wynot, and Mrs. Russell (Mabel) Campbell of Hartington; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren. Mr. Klanderud and three children preceded her in death. Among those out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Klanderud, and Mr. and Mrs. A.N. Klanderud of Sioux Falls, SD., Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Klanderud of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Thompson of Gayville, Sd., Lewis Klanderud of Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Nelson of Dixon.
