A brief service was held at the home, 18 miles west of this city, and the funeral sermon was preached at the Methodist church in this city by Rev. G.M Pendell, its pastor, at 12 o'clock. A large number of relatives and friends were present to pay their tributes to the decesased. The immediate relatives surviving him are his wife, two sons, Carl and E.B., and three daughters, Miss Mae, Mrs. Martha Rutland and Mrs. Sarah Benson. The children are all living at home excepting Mrs. Benson, who lives eight miles west of this city. Martin Knudson was born near Stravanger, Norway March 6, 1850, and emigrated to the United States in 1873, settling at Maringo, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Bertha Olson, moving then to near Corning, Adams county, Iowa, where they resided of ten years. They then moved...
