Melvin Wittler, interim pastor of the West Point Congregational Church, conducted services at the home at 2:00 p.m. and Rev. H. Niederwimmer officiated at the services at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge at 2:30. Burial was made in the Lawnridge cemetery under the direction of the Mohr Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Kenneth Brodersen, Roger Brodersen, James Bottolfson and Harlan Shope. Gary John, son of Marvin and Loretta Konken, was born November 3, 1949 at Norfolk and was baptized in the Lutheran faith. On November 14, 1950 a foreign object lodged in his lung and he was taken to St. Vincent's hosptal in Sioux City where he was a patient for four weeks. He is survived by his parents; twin brothers, Gail and Galen Konken; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Konken of Hartington, John Patent of Randolph and Mrs. Marie Patent of Wakefield; a great grandmother, Mrs. Meta Konken of Coleridge; and a great grandfather, Henry Wittler of Cook. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were John Patent, Raymond and Glen, Mrs. and Mrs. Chris Patent and Connie, Mrs. and Mrs. Richard Patent, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hickey and Alfred Patent of Randolph; Mrs. Sena Bohlken and LaVerle, Mrs. Meta Riechel and Mr. and Mrs. George Riechel, all of LeMars, Ia.; Mrs. and Mrs. George Patent of Creighton; Mrs. Marie Patent and Gleason of Wakefield; Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Broers of Cook; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Konken of Louisville, Ky.; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Wittler of Carroll; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wittler of Spirit Lake, Ia., and Rudolph Hickey of Norfolk.
