C. LANGE Services conducted from Bow Valley Church Monday Morning Funeral services were held Monday, morning at 10 o’clock at St. Peter and Paul church in Bow Valley for Mrs. Christina Lange, who passed away Friday morning Feburary 16, 1934, at the home of her son Ed, who lives on the old homestead near Fordyce. Rev. Anthony Birnbach conducted the services, and interment was in the Bow Valley Cemetery. Christina Foecke was born in Breese, Ill., on Aug. 29, 1860. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Foecke. When she was 14 years of age, the family moved to Cedar county and homesteaded near Fordyce. In 1877 she became the wife of Henry Lange, the ceremony being performed at Bow Valley. On May 3, 1913, Mr. Lange passed away and since that time, Mrs. Lange has been making her home with her son Ed. Mrs. Lange had been in ailing health for about a year, her death coming early Friday morning was caused by dropsy. Surviving her are her nine children, Henry G. Lange of Hartington; William C., Joseph and Lewis Lange of Crofton; Frank, John G., August and Edward Lange and Mrs. Stephen Keiser of near Fordyce. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Meyers of Milwaukee, Wis., and Annie of Dennison, Tex., and one brother Frank Foecke of Dennison. Forty-eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive her. Pallbearers at the funeral were six grandsonS, Marlen, Reinald and Arthur Lange, Henry and John Lattman,Jr., and Edward Keiser.
