Leader (Photo) YANKTON - Marjorie A. Leader, 80, Yankton, S.D., formerly of Crofton, died Jan. 25, 2001, at her residence. Visitation was Jan. 28 at the Wintz Funeral Home, crofton. Mass of Christian Burial was Jan. 29 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, with Rev. Bob English officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Constance. Pallbearers were her great-grandsons, T.J. Wheeler, Justin Wheeler, Jamie Poppe, Jason Poppe, Matthew Boelter and Kelly Bromley. Honorary pallbearers were all of her friends that worked with her. Marjorie was born Feb. 26, 1920, to Paul and Frances (Kohls) Kuehn in Aten. She married Robert Leader May 25, 1937, in Menominee. He died March 3, 1997. She grew up in Aten and attended school in Aten and Wynot. After her marriage, they farmed near Beaver Creek from 1937-1943. They then farmed north of Constance from 1943-1954. In 1954, they moved into crofton and she worked at the Truckers' Cafe in South Yankton from 1956-1965. She then worked as a cook at Bogner's Steakhouse from 1965-1999. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton. Her lifetime was spent giving to others. Survivors include two daughters and husbands, PHyllis and Dennis Lowin, Crofton; Marlene and Larry Bromley, Tilden; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores and Richard Sprague, Vancouver, Wash.; Geraldine White, Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, Kenneth Kuehn, Vancouver, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a stillborn daughter; two brothers, Hank and Leonard Kuehn; and a sister, Caroline Merkel.
