Loecker YANKTON, S.D. - Frances J. Loecker, 83, Yankton, S.D., died Aug. 19, 2001 at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton. Visitation was held Aug. 20 at the Kostel Funeral Home, Yankton, with a rosary and scripture service held later that evening. Mass of Christian Burial was Aug. 21 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee, with Rev. Mark Merkel and Rev. Michael Schmitz officiating. Burial was held in the St. Boniface Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Loecker, Brad Loecker, Kevin Loecker, Darrin Loecker, Cory Loecker and Mark Broders. Frances was born to Henry and Elizabeth (Hellman) Merkel Sept. 2, 1917, in Beaver Creek. She married Martin Loecker March 30, 1937, in Menominee. Frances lived her entire life in the Menominee area. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and quilting. Survivors include three sons, Vern and Marilyn, Yankton, S.D.; Melvin and Tillie, Crofton; and Duane and Shirley, Crofton; one daughter, Deb and Dan Broders, Yankton, S.D.; one sister, Hilda Kuehn, Fordyce; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Marlow and Harold; two infant grandchildren and five brothers. ======================== MAIDEN: FRANCES MERKEL
