Jenny in Sioux City after an illness of two weeks were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Congrega- tional church here with Rev. Will Richards officiating. Burial was made in the Hartington cemetery under the direction of Jones-Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons, Donald and Robert Marks, Darrell Peck, Keith Neuhalfen, Harvey Summers and LaVeryl Marks. Mary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Eby was born at Yellow Creek, Ill., August 15, 1859. When she was 1__ [12? 13?] years old her father sold his farm in Illinois and moved to Nebraska. She was married to Frederick Marks at Lime Creek with Rev. Clark as the officiating clergyman. They began their married life on a farm in waucapona and later they bought a farm near the Mayflower school. It was here that all except one of her children were born. Mr. Marks died January 27, 1906, but Mrs. Marks remained on the farm until 1910 when she moved to Hartington and purchased a home where she continued to live until about six years ago when advancing age forced her to give up housekeeping and go to live with her children. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. L.W. (Nellie) Jenny and Mrs. Laura Spencer of Sioux City, Mrs. Edith Poch of Hartingtington and Mrs. D.C. (Anna) Summers of Laurel; two sons, Fred of Sioux City and John of Allen; one brother Levi Eby of Coleridge; 13 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Her father died in April 1899 and her mother in 1897. One sister and six brothers also preceded her in death. A daughter, Linnie, died at the age of 13 and another daughter, Mrs. Lucy Gibson, died three years ago. Relative and friends who came from a distance to attend the funeral here Tuesday were: Mrs. M.C. Marks of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Hedglin of Ponca, Mrs. Lloyd Hamel of Waterloo, Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. Don Rygh, Mrs. Jack Rygh, Mr. and Mrs. G.L. Johannsen, Dave Barton, Mrs. C.V.
