Visitation was June 24 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Funeral services were June 25 at First Congregational U.C.C., Hartington, with Rev. Robert Neu officiating. Burial was in the Hartington City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Griess, Dean Griess, Chad Griess, Scott Griess, Larry Griess Jr., Ryan Dobble, Bill Cobler, Tom Cobler. Mildred was born Oct. 29, 1909, to William and Mary (Melvard) Olsen in Arlington. She married Milo Martin Oct. 15, 1926, in Yankton, S.D. He died April 4, 1984. Mildred grew up and lived most of her life in various communities in Iowa and Nebraska. She and her husband worked together primarily in Sioux City, Iowa, and Grand Island. She lived in Aurora, Colo., several years before moving to Beverly Healthcare Hartington in 1996. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Hartington. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Helen and Dean Griess, Aurora, Colo.; and Shirley and Roland Sparks, Westminster, Colo.; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great- grandchildren; three sisters and spouse, Leola Crance, Norfolk; Florence Cobler, Hartington; and Betty and Joe Schaefer, Hartington; two brothers and spouse; Arthur and Annetta Olsen, Sioux City, Iowa; and Lester Olsen, Sioux City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Kenneth, Donald and Ralph Olsen.
