Marx Rites Monday Dies Friday after a year long illness Wynot- Funeral services for Mrs. Louis Marx, 81, who died Friday at Sacred Heart hospital in Yankton after a year’s illness were held Monday morning at 10 o’clock from St. Peter’s and Paul church in Bow Valley where she had been married 57 years ago. Rev. A.S. Kluthe officiated at the funeral mass. Burial was in the Bow Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Wintz Mortuary. Pallbearers were Paul Schurman, Jr., Wilfred Schurman, Norman Schurman, and Floyd, Elmer and Marvin Wiebelhuaus. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Ed Arens, Mrs. Alphonse Kathol, Mrs. Ray Kathol, Mrs. Hugo Stappert, Mrs. L.M. Uhing and Mrs. Anton Pick. Christine, daughter of Frank and Josephine Hochstein sr. was born at Bow Valley, August 9, 1889. She lived her entire life in that community, where her parents were among the early settlers. She was married to Louis Marx at Bow Valley June 6, 1893. Since that time they had made their home on the same farm. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church and of the Christian mothers. She is survived by her husband, Louis who is an invalid; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Josephine) Foester of Hartington, Mrs. Paul (Rose) Schurman of Wynot, Mrs. Anton (Gertrude) Wiebelhaus of Wynot, and Martha Marx of Hartington, one son Wendell of Hartington; two sisters, Mrs. Anton Heimes, of Hartington and Mrs. John Wuebben of Wynot; and one brother, John Hochstein of Wynot. A son Joseph preceded his mother in death.
