McCain, 88, died Nov. 18, 1998, at Sister James Nursing Home, Yankton, S.D. Services were Nov. 21 at Christ Memorial United Methodist Church, Bloomfield, with Rev. Pat Culligan officiating. Burial was held at Beaver View Cemetery, Crofton. Pallbearers were Troy McCain, Jason McCain, Eric Stelling, Nathan Stelling, Terri Lee and Gina McDonald. Honorary pallbearers were Shelley Sukup and Stacy Hlatkey. Harvey was born Nov. 21, 1909, to James and Jennie (Kruse) McCain in Phillip, S.D. In 1911, Harvey and his parents moved to Knox County where he lived the majority of his life. He attended Frankfort, Weigand, and Bloomfield schools. He married Bonnie Huddleston Feb. 17, 1935, in Crofton. She died Nov. 15, 1992. After his marriage, he and Bonnie lived in Spencer, Iowa, for two years working for a farmer. They then moved to Knox County where he was active on the school board, township board and member of the rural Evangelical United Bretheran (United Methodist) Church. He farmed until 1986 when he retired and moved to Crofton. He loved horses and was a member of Crofton Saddle Club. Survivors include one son and his spouse, Wyman and Phyliss McCain, Crofton, two daughters and spouse, Julie McDonald, San Antonio, Texas, and Linda and Tim Stelling, Oskasis, Minn.; eight grand- children, seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruby Miller, Castro Valley, Calif.
