Meyer NORFOLK - Bertha M. Meyer, 92, formerly of Hartington, died Jan. 4, 2000, at Skyview Villa, Norfolk. Visitation was Jan. 6 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Mass of Christian Burial was Jan. 7 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with Monsignor Cyril Werner officiating. Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hartington. Pallbearers were Gregory Gilsdorf, Tim Sullivan, Doug Sullivan, Steve Kollars, Phil Kollars and Mike Meyer. Bertha was born March 7, 1907, to John and Anna Mary (Ausdemore) Schumacher in Crofton. She married Fred A. Meyer Feb. 14, 1928, in Crofton. He died July 17, 1993. Bertha grew up in the Crofton area and after their marriage they farmed in Cedar and Knox counties. They moved into Hartington in 1978. She moved to the Skyview Villa, Norfolk, in 1994. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington and the Christian Mothers. Survivors include eight children and spouses, Kathleen and Earl Gilsdorf, Columbus; Joyce and Orville Kollars, Arlington; Vernon P. Meyer, Omaha; Leora and Ray Sullivan, Elgin; Dennis and Charleen Meyer, Olathe, Kan.; Dean and Karen Meyer, Norfolk; Renae and Ed Pieters, New Town Square, Pa.; Delwin Meyer, Fremont; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.
