Paltz, 98, St. Helena, died Dec. 13, 1998, at the Hartington Nursing Center, Hartington. Visitation was Dec. 18 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, and prior to services Saturday. Funeral services were Dec. 19 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Helena, with Rev. Mark Tomasiewicz officiating. Pallbearers were Victor Paltz, Virgil Paltz, Roger Paltz, Robert Paltz, John Paltz and Paul Paltz. Theresa was born Dec. 31, 1899, to George and Katherine (Betz) Hausman in St. Helena. She married William Paltz Feb. 26, 1924, in St. Helena. He died March 29, 1969. Theresa grew up and lived in the St. Helena area all of her life, where she and her husband farmed. She has been a resident of the Hartington Nursing Center for the past three years. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Helena; the Altar Society and Christian Mothers. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Cleo and Romaine Paltz, Sutherlin, Ore.; Arland and Carol Paltz, St. Helena; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son Kenneth; one great- grandaughter, Amy Paltz, five brothers, John, George, William, Carl and Fred Hausman; and three sisters, Rose Regan, Agnes Sparby, and Mary Collins.
