Funeral services were held Dec. 7 at Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church, St. James, with Rev. Jay Kruse officiating. Burial was held at Sts. Philip and James Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenny Koch, Jerry Koch, Jim Koch, Danny Reifenrath, Larry Promes and Jerome Promes. Honorary pallbearers were Marcella Bruning, Cindy Pinkelman, Mildred Koch, Mary Rose Pinkelman, Helen Pinkelman, Sally Promes, Marge Heimes, Mavis Koch and Alice Beyeler. Theresa was born Sept. 15, 1903, to Henry and Mary (Reuter) Promes in St. James. She lived in the St. James area all her life except when she kept house for Father Giblin in Newcastle. She was a member of the Sts. Philip and James Church and Altar Society. Survivors include three sisters, Martha Promes, Sr. James Nursing Home, Yankton, S.D.; Laura Koch, Wynot; and Marie Koch, Coleridge. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Joe, Louis, Art and Frank Promes; and one sister, Josephine Reifenrath.
