A rosary was held Sept. 1 at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, Sacramento. A Funeral Mass was held Sept. 2 at Our Lady Of Lourdes, Sacramento. A graveside ceremony followed at Sunset Lawn Memorial Park. Dwight was born May 16, 1927, in Laurel. He graduated from Wynot High School and received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy June 25, 1946. He is survivied by his wife of 44 years, Loraine (Vieffa) Rankin; three children, Diana Garrett, Sacramento, Calif.; Sharon Hardin, Tacoma, Wash.; and Terri Brogdon, Sacramento, Calif.; nine grandchildren and one great- grandson; brothers, Bill, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Harold, Coos Bay, Ore.; and sisters Dorothy Elder, Sacramento, Calif., and Darlene Welz, Cerritos, Calif.; and many other relatives and friends.
