Permission granted by: Rob Dump, Editor, Cedar County News ====================================================================== Cedar County News Nov. 17, 1932 Services Held for Frank Reifenrath Longtime resident of County Succumbs to Heart Attack Funeral services were held at 10 o’clock last Wednesday morning for Frank J. Reifenrath, a resident of Brookey’s Bottom near Wynot for the past 53 years, who died the previous Sunday at 9:39 pm at the home of his brother Fred. He had suffered with heart trouble since 1924. The final rites were solmonized in St. Phillips and James church in St. James with Father E.J. Hunkier of Omaha, a former pastor of that vicinity in charge. Interment was in St. Phillips and James cemetery. Mr. Reifenrath was born Dec. 24, 1879, at Brookey Bottom, the son of Gerloch and Mary Smith Reifenrath, who were among the first settlers in Cedar County. He was married to Seraphina Haas of Fordyce. Since his marriage he lived on his farm just south of Wynot until a few years ago, when poor health forced him to quit farming. Mr. Reifenrath rented his place and went to Texas for a year, where his health was better for a time. After returning to Cedar County he has lived with his brother Fred, in the old home place. Mr. Reifenrath was born and died in the same house. He was able to be up until a few days before his death and was conscious until the end. Surviving are his widow, three brothers, F.P. Reifenrath, August J. Reifenrath, and John G. Reifenrath, Wynot, and three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Imohl, and Clara M. Reifenrath, Wynot and Elizabeth Reifenrath, Omaha.
