Reifenrath Hartington-Josephine E. Reifenrath, 90, died August 13, 1998, at Community Pride Care, Battle Creek. Services were August 17 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Monsignor Cyril Werner officiating. Burial was at St. Michael's Cemetery, Hartington. Pallbearers were Charles Promes, Tom Dureske, Robert Donner, LeRoy Beste, Wilfred Zwinger and Tom Promes. Josephine was born Feb. 27, 1908, to Henry and Mary Ann (Reuter) Promes in St. James. She grew up in the St. James area and married Hubert Carl Reifenrath Nov. 7, 1939, in St James. After her marriage to Hubert, they farmed in the St. James area until they retired in 1976, when they moved to Hartington. She had been a resident of the Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek since 1995. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, and an active member of the church's perpetual adoration. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs Wilfred (Mary Jo) Zwinger, Dimock, S.D.; one son, Dan Reifenrath, Norfolk; two grandchildren; four sisters, Theresa Promes, St. James; Martha Promes, St. James; Laura Koch, Wynot; and Marie Koch, Coleridge.
