Funeral services were conducted by Fr. D. Kelley, at 9 o'clock Monday morning at the Catholic church in Flandreau, S. Dak. Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery there. Her six brothers were the pallbearers. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. [L.]C. Gothier, her husband, Howard Rice, and four children, Mary 16; Rita, 14; James, 12; and Leo, 9. Her mother had been making her home with them for the past several years. Brothers and sisters surviving are Ernest, Paul, Louis, Earl, Joseph, and Gerald Gothier, Mrs. Margaret Redl, Newcastle; Mrs. Mable Armstrong, Flandreau; Mrs. Ethel Bergman, Hartington; and her twin sister, Mrs. Marie Grinvold of Circle, Montana. Alice Marie Gothier was born May 1, 1896 at Anthon, Ia., and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis C. Gothier. Her parents lived near Obert in 1918, where she attended the Ames Creek school. She was married June 15, 1920 to Howard Rice at Flandreau. They had alwayd made their home near Flandreau. She was a member of the Catholic church at that place. Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bergman, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gothier and family of Hartington, Mr. and Mrs. Louis C. Gothier and family of Avoca, Mrs. Julius Grinvold and Joseph Gothier of Circle, Montana; Mr. and Mrs. Redl of Newcastle; Earl Gothier of St. Paul, Minn.; Ed Rice and Mrs. John Rice and daughter of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bland, Redfield, S. Dak.; Mrs. Winnie Sharp, Evanston, Ill., Miss Frances waters, St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. John Keating, Yankton; Mrs. Joe Jerman and Miss Kate Roark, Anton, Ia.; and Mrs. Anna Davis of Huron, S.
