Services were Sept. 27 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Mark Liscom officiating. Burial was in the Bloomfield cemetery. Lawrence was born May 18, l921. to Herbert and Elizabeth (Peterson) Sage in rural Crofton near the Site of Gavins Point Dam. He attended rural Aten, Weigand and Addison schools and helped on his father's farm until entering the U.S. Army in 1945. He served in the Philippines during World War II and returned to the farm in 1946. He married LilyAnn Greckel July 14, 1954, at Yankton. He farmed and raised cattle and always had time to help a neighbor. In 1989, they moved into Crofton. He is survived by his wife LilyAnn, Crofton, son, Brad and Sue Sage, Crofton; daughter, Sandra and Lee Broders, Freeman, S.D.; and seven grandchildren.
