He had made his home in Sioux City the past year following his retirement from farming. Funeral services for Mr. Satorius were held at the Larkin Funeral Home in sioux City Monday afternoon with Rev. Carl Grindberg, pastor of the Riverside Lutheran church, officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park cemetery. Mr. Satorius is survived by his wife, Katherine; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Brown and Mrs. Beatrice Hansen of Sioux City, and three grandsons. With the exception of three years spent in South Dakota, Mr. Satorius lived continuously on the same farm in Brookey Bottom for 70 years. Born in Germany April 9, 1863, he came to this country when he was four years old. After a short stay in Omaha his parents home- steaded on the farm on which he spent practically all of his life. Mr. Satorius was married May 24, 1892 to Miss Katherine Bergman at St. Helena. JANUARY 1944 CEDAR COUNTY NEWS
