PIONEER OF COUNTY DIES IN SIOUX CITY

Funeral Services Are Held Monday for Christian Satorius, 80
	----------
	WYNOT - Christian Satorius, 80, longtime resident of the 
Brookey Bottom community near here, died in a Sioux city hospital 
Saturday after a brief illness.  He had made his home in Sioux 
City the past year following his retirement from farming.
	Funeral services for Mr. Satorius were held at the Larkin 
Funeral Home in sioux City Monday afternoon with Rev. Carl Grindberg, 
pastor of the Riverside Lutheran church, officiating.  Burial was in 
the Memorial Park cemetery.
	Mr. Satorius is survived by his wife, Katherine; two daughters,
Mrs. Gertrude Brown and Mrs. Beatrice Hansen of Sioux City, and three 
grandsons.
	With the exception of three years spent in South Dakota, Mr. 
Satorius lived continuously on the same farm in Brookey Bottom for 
70 years.  Born in Germany April 9, 1863, he came to this country when 
he was four years old.  After a short stay in Omaha his parents home-
steaded on the farm on which he spent practically all of his life.
	Mr. Satorius was married May 24, 1892 to Miss Katherine Bergman 
at St. Helena.
