Schmeckpeper MCALLEN, Texas - Garron L. Schmeckpeper, 70, McAllen, Texas, died Dec. 10, 2000, at McAllen Heart Center, McAllen, Texas. Serivces were Dec. 16 at First Trinity Lutheran Chruch, Bloomfield, with Rev. Phillip Hannemann officiating. Burial was held at the Bloomfield Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Post #249. Pallbearers were Tony Wragge, Jeff Schmeckpeper, Wade Jenness, Colby Schmeckpeper, Casey Schmeckpeper, Michael Pagel, Aaron Quitt, Brandon Jenness, Trey Schmeckpeper, Kyle Plumbtree, Tyler Plumbtree, Kyley Plumbtree, Codyle Plumbtree, Collin Crouch and Bob Pagel. Honorary pallbearers were his granddaughters. Garron was born Aug. 25, 1930, to Ernest and Minnie Schmeckpeper in Bloomfield. He attended school at First Trinity Lutheran and Bloomfield High School, later to Graduate from Deshler High School in 1949. He joined the Navy in 1949. He married Lois Jean Ziegler Aug. 6, 1950, at Golgotha Lutheran Chruch, WAusa. In 1950, they moved to Wendell, Idaho and in 1958 moved to a farm northwest of Bloomfield. They moved to town in 1964 and operated the Schmeckpeper Implement dealership for 30 years. He was a member of the First Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomfield. He enjoyed conversation and card playing with many firends. Winter months were spent in Texas. Survivors include sons and their wives: Gary and Deb, Terry and Roben, Douglas and Kris, all of Bloomfield; Richard and Lori, Iowa; daughters and their husbands, Sandra Kaiser, Brenda and Mike Pagel, Jody and Steven Edmondson, all of Bloomfield; Sheri and Dean Plumbtree, Wausa; 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Milford, Buhl, Idaho; and sisters, Mardell Bruner, Sun Valley, Fla. and Ganelle Sund, Bloomfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; parents, Ernest and Minnie; and brothers, Harlen, Daylon and Wayne.
