Dan Peterson of Akron, IA., officiating. Entombment was made in the Obert cemetery under the direction of Mohr’s Mortuary of Ponca. Pallbearers were Earl Heikes, D W Elliot, Elvin Anderson, Nels Nielsen, Levi Bishop, and Andrew Sorenson. Mr. Sorensen was born in Denmark, Feb. 8, 1868 and he came to America when he was 16 years of age. He lived in Omaha for 27 years where he worked for the street car company when the cars were horse drawn and later became chief electrician when the line was electrified. Later he moved to a farm in the Newcastle area where he farmed until three years ago when he moved to Maskell after 47 years on the farm. He was married twice and after the death of his first wife he married Mrs. Fay Merchant Bishop. He is survived by his wife, Fay, two daughters, Miss Agnes Sorensen, of Chatsworth, Ia., and Mrs. Francis Roth of Deweese; and two sons, LeRoy and Raymond of Sioux City.
