Sullivan, Banker dies suddenly from a Heart Attack Wynot- Wynot citizens were shocked to learn of the death of P.A. Sullivan, 55, of Lawrence, which occurred Thursday evening August 29. Mr. Sullivan had not been in the best of health for some time but his death was very sudden, evidently from a heart attack. He was found dead slumped in his chair at his office. The family had moved to Lawrence some time ago from Kearney. Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan were residents of Wynot for 24 years, coming here when the town was started in 1907. He was the first cashier of the Farmers State Bank when it started at St. James in the fall of 1907 and later moved to Wynot. He was later elected president of the bank and held that position until the closing of the bank on September 7, 1931. After that he was appointed assistant bank receiver for several closed banks and various towns of western Nebraska and in December, 1931, the family moved to Grant, then to Upland, Kearney, and some time ago to Lawrence. Son of Pioneer P.A. Sullivan was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Sullivan and most of his early life was spent in Dixon county. On October 24, 1907, he and Ms. Lilly Wilkinson of Newcastle were married and started housekeeping at St James, later moving to Wynot when the bank business was moved. Mr. Sullivan is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Paul Gilgen of Minden, and Mrs. Richard Hartford of San Francisco, and his aged father, William Sullivan, 85. Funeral services were held at Upland Sunday afternoon with burial in the Upland cemetery. During his residence in Wynot, Mr. Sullivan was very active in church and lodge work and directed the Lutheran choir for many years.
