Visitation was held June 29 at the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc., Enid, Okla. Graveside funeral services were June 30 at the Enid Cemetery, Enid, Okla. Rev. David Mendenhall officiated. Joe was born Sept. 11, 1962, to Gerald L. and Dixie (Moore) Tenney in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He started school in Iowa at Lawton-Bronson Consolidated School. In 1974, he moved with his family to Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, and when he was 14, they moved to Nebraska where he attended high school. At 19, he joined the United States Navy and completed basic training in San Diego, Calif. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Omaha, where he worked in the roofing industry. In 1982, he moved to Enid, Okla., and worked in the oil field industry and most recently at Advanced Packing Company. Joe was baptized into the Baptist Church. He enjoyed carpentry and created many wonderful things for his family and friends. Joe is survived by his father, Gerald L. Tenney and his wife, Shirley, Hartington; one sister, Michelle Waugh and her husband, Danny Smith, Cleo Springs, Okla.; three half-sisters, Connie Sazama, Sherry Miller and Cindy Koupal, all of South Dakota; two nieces, Misty and Tracy Waugh; and two nephews, Michael and Mitchell Waugh. He was preceded in death by his mother and both sets of grandparents. Memorials can be made through the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
