Vedder, 74, Hartington, died Dec. 7, 1999, at her residence. Services were Dec. 10 at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, South Sioux City, with the Rev. Dale Jirousek, First Lutheran Church, officiating. Additional memorial services were Dec. 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, with the Rev. Paul Reimers officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Burr. Mrs. Vedder was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Hartington, the daughter of John C. and Selma (Wittler) Konken. She was baptized and confirmed a Lutheran. She attended District 47 School and received a GED and attended National Business College in Lincoln. She married Edward J. Broers March 18, 1946, in Cook. He died Oct. 3, 1957, in Nebraska City, She married Floyd Vedder Dec. 7, 1958, in Lincoln. She was employed at restaurants in Nebraska and Sioux City. She lived in Sioux City until 1977, when she moved to South Sioux City. She moved to Hartington in 1995. She belonged to First and Trinity Lutheran Churches, Women of E.L.C.A., Circle 1, Cedar County Historical Society, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Cedar County Republican Committee. Survivors include a sister and her husband, Gladys and Marvin Pedersen, Hartington; four brothers, Elmer (Jean) Konken, Coleridge; Clarence (Betty) Konken, Vernon (Arlis) Konken and Gerald (Delores) Konken, all of Hartington; two sisters-in-law, Loretta (Louis) Hahn, Hartington; and Viola (Frank) Weatherwax, Niobrara; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, one in infancy; Marvin, Hartington; Norman, Louisville, Ky.: Wendell, Niobrara; one sister- in-law, Lilly May, Konken, Kentucky; and a nephew, Gary J.
