Waggoner LINCOLN - Eugene M. Waggoner, 78, Lincoln, formerly of Nebraska City, died Jan. 23, 2001, at his residence in Lincoln. Services were Jan. 26 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Fr. John Sullivan officiating. Burial was at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Nebraska City, with miltary services by Post #8 of Nebraska City. Pallbearers were Jeffrey Waggoner, Douglas Shum, Nicholas Shum, Marcus Shum, Jon Ford and Dan Engelke. Eugene married his wife, Joan, May 29, 1946, in Hartington. He was WWII Veteran, and an Army National Guard Staff Sgt. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Eagles #968 of Nebraska City, American Legion Post #8 of Nebraska City, VFW Hartington Post #5283, Carpenters Union and DAV. Eugene is survived by his wife, Joan; son, David, Kearney; daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Roger Davis, Omaha; Jeneice Waggoner, Lincoln; Sherry and Donald Shum, Lincoln; Karen and Leland Brozovsky, Lincoln; and Donna and Bill Ashenfelter, Wichita, Kan.; nine grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Janet, Yankton, S.D.; and sisters, Vera Benesh, Omaha, and Velma Young, Arlington, TExas. He was preceded in death by two infant sons; his parents; two brothers, Earl and James; and one sister, Verla Waggoner.
