There was a remembrance service Dec. 18 at Wakefield Legion Hall. Jacqueline Sue Beck was born in Tahlequah, Okla., Aug. 4, 1928, to Joseph and Fredonia (Neet) Beck. Jackie spent most of her childhood in the Oklahoma area. In 1944, she married James Douglas Wilkerson. They moved to Wynot in 1952, where James taught school and Jackie raised their children. In 1961, they moved to Wakefield, where they made their permanent home, Jacqueline as a full-time homemaker. She had a passion for sewing, reading and baseball. Jacqueline is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Karen Wilkerson, Jenks, Okla.; a daughter and son-in-law, JayLyn Beck, Beemer, and Vernon Steele, Laurel; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheri Burton, Hastings, and Kenneth Burton, Bayard; a son and partner, Jeff Wilkerson and Ron Chase, Eugene, Ore.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Clayton Obermeyer, Laurel; her mother, Fredonia "Becky" Ward, Wakefield; a sister and brother-in-law, Billie Jo and Bill Ramsey, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Harrison Carl and Margie Beck, Nashville, Tenn.; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Sharon Harper, Folsom, Calif.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Edmond Beck in 1936, a son, Steven Douglas Wilkerson, in 1968; her husband, James Douglas Wilkerson in 19??, and a sister and brother-in-law, Claudia Jean and Gilbert Shar-- in 1997.
