His father was a farmer. Mr. Armstrong attended the public schools of Plainview, Nebraska, and in 1913 was graduated from the high school there. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce at Valentine, Nebraska, the Rotary Club, the Parent Teachers Association, and the Presbyterian Church. He served in the United States Army during the World War and is now a member of the American Legion. His favorite sport is baseball. Of his marriage to Florence Erma Wright, which occurred at Knoxville, Iowa, October 10, 1896, two children were born, Jack, on May 1, 1922; and Virginia, born October 23, 1923. Residence: Valentine.
