Heuck, age 21, of Gothenburg, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Hastings. Services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cozad with Chaplain Scott Ehler officiating. Burial with military honors was at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation for memorial book signatures was Monday at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Raymond was born Nov. 25, 1988 at Sidney to Ronald and Connie (Harmon) Heuck. He attended school in Sidney until the seventh grade, when his family moved to the Gothenburg area. Raymond attended Gothenburg High School and eventually graduated from Cozad High School in 2006. Following his schooling, Raymond entered the Army National Guard. He was sent to boot camp at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and went on to Advanced Individual Training in New Jersey. On Feb. 21, 2009, Raymond married Amanda K. Copass at the Nazarene Church in Cozad. The couple made their home in Hastings following their nuptials, eventually moving to Gothenburg in September of 2009. At the time of his death, Raymond was a member of the 1074th Transportation Company based in North Platte. He was to be deployed to fight for our country in Afghanistan on Saturday, July 31 with Troop C-134 Cavalry based in Beatrice. Raymond is lovingly survived by his wife and son, Amanda and Tegan of Gothenburg; parents, Connie and Ron Heuck of Axtell; two brothers, Jackie Heuck of Axtell, Chris Heuck of Hastings; sister, Bralynn Heuck of Axtell; maternal grandma, Barbara “G-Ma” Farthing of Sidney; mother-in-law, Pat Smith of Cozad; father-in-law, Mike (Heather) Copass of Cozad; sister-in-law, Chasity Tunison of Grant; three brothers-in-law, Joe Flores of Gothenburg, Tanner Flores of Cozad, Jamie Flores of Hastings and a host of other close relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, Jack Harmon and his uncle, Jackie Harmon.
