Hill, a member of company I of the 3rd Wisconsin infantry, lost his leg in the battle of Antietam, September 17, 1862. He was born at Truston, England on December 16, 1841. Funeral services for Hill, who has lived in Albion since the fall of 1909 when he retired from his Colfax county farm near Rogers, Neb., will be held Sunday. He is survived by two daughters and two sons, Miss Minnie Hill, Albion; Mrs. David L. Peters, Wolford, N.D.; R. D. Hill, Potter; and A. T. Hill, Albion.
