She grew up in the Tarnov area attending St. Michaels Catholic School. She was one of eight brothers and sisters. On Jan. 5, 1937, she married Andrew P. Urkoski at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Omaha. They made their home and farmed seven miles north of Clarks. To this union 5 children were born. Andrew played the bass fiddle for the Urkoski Polka band with their sons, brothers and cousins. She work at Louie's restaurant and at Dale's Electronics. She retired in 1976. She was a member of Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Krakow, near Genoa, the church choir and the altar society. Her love for the farm, raising children, gardening, especially her flowers in her yard and most favorite Geraniums, was work but yet not because of the love and care of her family. As a farm wife and mother she always canned vegetables from the garden and of course making and canning sourkraut from cabbage and her famous dill pickles. To this day the children and grandchildren would want a jar or two. Her husband, Andrew, passed away on July 22, 1984. She remained on the farm until 2004, she moved to Valley View Assisted Living in Fullerton. In Aug. 2009, she moved to Cloverlodge Nursing Home in St. Edward. Survivors include, three sons and daughter-in-laws, Ron and Jeannette Urkoski, Gene and Phyllis Urkoski and Allan and Pat Urkoski, all of Silver Creek, two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Don Sock, of Norfolk, and Ev and Wayne Wondercheck, of Fullerton, 25 grandchildren, and 49 great-grandchildren.
