ELK CREEK CEMETERY, Custer County, Nebraska

This is a public cemetery and is accessible from the road.
From Ansley, Custer County, Nebraska travel on Hwy 183, south, for 11 miles.
At the gravel road (there is a sign here announcing the turn off to Cumro) turn
and go 3/4 of a mile east. This cemetery is fenced in and has a large archway over
the gate leading inside. The name Elk Creek Cemetery is written across the top of
the arch.  There is a marble sign in the southeast corner of the cemetery that reads;
"In memory of all unmarked graves
Elk Creek Cemetery
Established Nov 22, 1887
Land donated by Howard Rood"
