Andre, 74, of Litchfield, died Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Litchfield with the Rev. Barbara Spangler officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Allan Campbell of Shawnee, Kan., Rhonda and Myron Hanquist of Hordville and Roxanna and Chuck Wobbema of Lexington; one son, Steve Story of Arkansas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Gayle Beran of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his wives and a brother-in-law, Joe Beran. Gerald Andre was born Nov. 24, 1934 in Arnold to James “Ted” and Mabel (Johnson) Andre. He was educated in Custer County. He served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 29, 1954-Sept. 28, 1956. He married Constance Quakenbush in 1956. The couple lived in Arnold and Gerald drove truck. He married Janette Story on Dec. 5, 1962 in North Platte. They made their home in Lexington where Gerald was a truck driver and operated a landscape service. He was an entrepreneur to many. They moved to Litchfield in 2000. Janette died in February of 2001. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Methodist Church.
