Bean, age 89, of Cozad, died Nov. 14, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Cozad. Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozad Christian Church, located on Ninth and ‘F’ Street. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 1p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Mable was born March 23, 1921 at Arnold to Malcom and Helga (Berg) Magnuson and attended school at Arnold. On May 2, 1942, she married Francis “Skeet” Bean at Las Vegas, Nev. Francis was serving in the U.S. Navy at the time; upon his discharge in 1945, the couple made their home on the Bean family farm at Arnold. The couple moved to Cozad in 1956. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Charlie, Peggy and Mitchell. In the late 1950s, Mable began work for Nebraska Plastics, a job she held for nearly 10 years. Francis preceded Mable in death in April of 2004. She was a long time member of the Cozad Christian Church. Mable was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years. Survivors include her two sons, Charles Bean of Cozad; Mitchell (Katie) Bean of Kearney; daughter, Peggy (Roger) Maack of Cozad; six grandchildren, Todd (Stacey) Bean of Atlantic, Iowa, Tonya (Randy) Weatherly of Cozad, Greg (Sue) Maack of Eaton, Colo., Marla (Shawn) Holen of Cozad, Jeff Bean of Toledo, Ore., and Allie Bean of Omaha; nine great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Audrey) Magnuson of Bayard and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2004; daughter-in- law, Sharon Bean in 2008 and a great granddaughter, Emily Bean in 1997; two brothers, Glen and Johnny; sister, Ellen and an infant brother.
