Conroy, age 78, of Oconto, died March 7, 2008 at Heritage Hall in Broken Bow. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 13 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oconto with the Rev. Father Todd Philipsen officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery of Oconto. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 1-7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oconto. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. at the Church. Paul is survived by his wife, Bette; three sons, Maynard (Deb) Conroy of Gordon, Mike (Sandy) Conroy of Franktown, Colo., and Mitch (Lynette) Conroy of Oconto; two daughters, Paula (Jeff) Ingram of Overton and Pam (Larry) Karschner of Kearney; one step-daughter, Vicky (Chuck) Eggleston of Gothenburg; grandchildren, Lane, Chris and Rehett Conroy of Gordon, Chantal and Brice Conroy of Franktown, Colo., Cassidy, Hallie and Taylor of Oconto, Brook Wind of Champaign, Ill., Travis Wind of Kearney, Amber (Gabe) Lawrence and Ashley Ingram of Omaha, Kara (Josh) Methe of Normal, Ill., Tammy (Chad) Schall, Tim (Stephanie) Eggleston, Tracy Miller and Trever Eggleston, all of Broken Bow; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, John ( Gladys) Conroy of Oconto and Jim (Grace) Conroy of Lincoln; sister, Bette Conroy of York; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Lawrence and Lewis; sister, Rose; one grandson, Kyle Karschner and one granddaughter, Morgan Conroy. Paul was born on Sep. 27, 1929 to Andrew and Loretta (Neville) Conroy in a log cabin at Lomax. He graduated from Oconto High School in 1947. On May 13, 1952, he married Bette Berg Kauffman in Stapleton. They were married for over 55 years.
