A memorial service will be held Friday, July 24, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the Callaway United Meth-odist Church with the Rev. Dale Coates, Pastor Dean Haidle and Mr. Ken Pitkin officiating.   There will be no visitation as Wayne’s body has been cremated.   Inurnment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway with Military Honors by the Callaway American Legion. Wayne is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Donna Hogg of Callaway; one son, Tim (Ann) Hogg of Callaway; two daughters, Micki Blackburn and friend Dan Denson and his children of Broken Bow, Roxi (Randy) Meyer of Callaway; one sister, Janey (Andy) Walch of Las Cruces, N.M.; sister-in-law, Marge (Orin) Frederick of Callaway; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Blackburn of Broken Bow, Marcus (Ashley) Blackburn of Anselmo, Zach and Hannah Meyer of Callaway, Brian (Sara) Hogg of Broken Bow, Tara (Arthur) Holland of Broken Bow, Chasity Ahrens of Callaway; two great-grandchildren, Gabe Coon and Skylen Holland of Broken Bowand many nieces, nephews and numerous friends throughout the area. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; a sister- in-law, Clareen Schipporeit; one brother-in-law, Don Leigh and his in-laws, William and Evelyn Schipporeit.  Wayne was born July 9, 1935, in Shelton to Everett A. and Bernice (Shanley) Hogg. Wayne lived in Shelton until he moved to Callaway at the age of four. He attended public school in Callaway until he joined the United States Army on Jan. 30, 1957. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 16, 1959.   On Sept. 5, 1959 he married the love of his life, Donna Schipporeit of Callaway. To this union three children were born; Tim, Micki and Roxi. When Wayne returned from the service he worked as a mechanic with his dad at Hogg’s Garage. He later became a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Callaway until his retirement.   He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Callaway Fire Department for over 25 years and served as Fire Chief, he was a founding member and president of the 7-Valley’s Historical Society, the Callaway Chamber of Commerce, American Legion and VFW.
