Services were Friday, Jan. 30, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oconto with Father James Hunt officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Broken Bow. Visitation was Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oconto with the rosary following at the church. Survivors include her husband, Mack; three children, Michael (Linda) of Livonia, N.Y., Elizabeth (Allen) Lonowski, Scottsbluff, Patrick Horn, Oconto; one sister, Helen Hagenow, San Marco, Calif.; one brother, Eugene Thomas, Broken Bow; one granddaughter, Dawn Lonowski, Springfield, Ore.; three grandsons, Toby Whitte Horn, Pittsburgh, Pa., Nathan Whitte Horn, Rochester, N.Y., Eric Lonowski, San Francisco, Calif., and one great-granddaughter, Abbirose Lonowski. Willa was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Glen Thomas; a sister, Elenor VanSandt and a granddaughter, Christy Lonowski. Willa was born Sept. 30, 1931 to Cennie (Christen) and Otho Thomas in Merna. After graduating from Broken Bow High School in 1949, she met Mack Horn and they married on March 26, 1951, in Oconto. To this union, three children were born. They lived and worked on a ranch together for over 57 years. Willa enjoyed camping, needle craft projects, sewing and building dollhouses. She belonged to St. Mary Catholic Church in Oconto.
