Funeral Services will be Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Orthodox Church in Kearney with the Revs. Christopher Morris and Philip Vreeland officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell. Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, from 5-7 p.m. with Trisagion Service to follow at 7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. She was born July 1, 1926, at Lexington, to George and Mary (Malooley) Maloley. She went through elementary school at District No. 17 and attended Lexington High School. Leenda was united in marriage to John S. LiaKos on Aug. 27, 1950, at Lexington. Three sons were blessed to this marriage; Michael, Nick and Norman. Leenda was a member of St. George Orthodox Church in Kearney as well as St. Helen’s Altar Society. She loved her church and was an active member for many years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Oconto. Leenda was first and foremost a wife and mother, but helped John in their store, the M and L Department Store for many years. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John Liakos of Oconto; three sons, Michael (Darlene) LiaKos of Minden, Nick (Jane) LiaKos of Lawrence, Kan., Norman (Pat ) LiaKos of Curtis; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five brothers: Shibble Maloley, Faud (Wanda) Maloley, all of Lexington, Nimer (Margaret) Maloley of Kearney, John (Mary) Maloley and Joe (Linda) Maloley, all of Lexington and two sisters, Sadie Malooley of Spring Valley, Ill., Victoria Salem of Kearney. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Leenda was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Toffie, Andy and Zickie and one sister, Esther.
