Azale Line, 89, of Miller, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Miller Methodist Church in Miller. The Rev. Bonnie Brock will officiate and burial will be at the Armada Cemetery in Miller. Visitation is planned Wednesday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride and Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney or prior to services Thursday at the church. He was born Nov. 6, 1921 to C. T. and Minnie (Russell) Line at their home northeast of Eddyville in the Buzzards Roost area of Custer County. On Dec. 24, 1941 he married Irma A. Judy. They farmed and ranched all their lives. The Judy and Line Ranch has been in the family for 124 years. He is survived by a daughter, Judy (Robert) Erwin of Sumner; grandchildren, Susan (Brian) Dittmar of Sumner and their children Kasie and Lindsey Dittmar, James Erwin of Akron, Colo., and his children Jessica and Chelsey Erwin of Grand Island, Chase Erwin of Sumner; daughter-in-law, Dixie Line of Miller; grandchildren Darby (Annette) Line of Miller and their sons Travis, Dillan, Jason, Creyton and Braxton; Deanna (Dan) Sleicher of Kearney and their children Cassidy and Collin and Danelle (Matt) Hadwiger of Amherst and their children Ty, Taryn, Tenley and Tayje. He is also survived by special friend Janice Pfeiffer of Amherst. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irma, in 2000 and sons, Daniel in 1961 and Douglas in 2009.
