Services were held Monday, March 24 at The Evangelical Free Church of Broken Bow with Pastor Doug Shada and family members officiating. Military services and burial will be at the Westerville Cemetery. Visitation was Monday, March 24, at the Govier Brothers Funeral Home in Broken Bow. Survivors include his son, Edwin R. (Ruth) Scott of Woodland Park, Colo.; three daughters, Sandra (Larry) Hock of Cozad, Phyllis G. (Don) Ramsey of Broken Bow and DeeAnn (Joe) Lewis of Alliance; seven grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Anne Einsphar, Maxine Slingsby, and Georgia Scott; two brothers-in-law, Richard Einsphar and Kenneth Slingsby and an infant brother Edward. Edwin was born April 20, 1920 on the John Scott homestead near Westerville to George and Addie (Burnham) Scott. On June 26, 1942, he married Phylbert McEwen at the Methodist Church in Westerville. To this union, four children were born.
