Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, Jan.11, 2010, at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Anselmo, with the Rev. Jim Hunt officiating.   Burial was in the St. Anselm’s Catholic Cemetery at Anselmo.   Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at the Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway.   Rosary was recited at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Anselmo.  Robert was born Nov. 14, 1922, to John and Mary “Mae” (Juel) Teahon, at the home of Chris and Mary Fagan Juel, in Union Valley west of Broken Bow.   He attended grade school (K-8) at District No. 58 in Ortello Valley. Robert graduated from Anselmo High School with the class of 1940. He then farmed with his father, John, until his enlistment in the Navy. During WWII, Robert was a Navy Seaman First Class Gunner on S.S. Fredrick H. Baetjer, a merchant marine ship hauling ammunition to France and England.   At the conclusion of the war, Robert was drafted for shore patrol duty in Leltarve, France. He later transferred to the Navy fleet, as Yeoman Third class, stationed at the U.S. Air Base in Guam.   Robert’s friend and classmate, Virgil Condron, introduced Robert to his sister Jessie Condron, upon returning home from WWII.   Robert and Jessie were married at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Anselmo on Dec.29, 1949. They moved to Eureka Valley in March of 1950, purchasing land from his parents. Robert and Jessie had six children; John, Peggy, Deanne, Mary, Mike and Tracey.   Robert’s interests and hobbies included history, shooting pool, reading, horses, and hunting pheasants. He enjoyed his family and his friendship with Keith and Kenneth Biggerstaff.   Robert is survived by two sons, John (Sonia) Teahon of Gering, Mike (Kelli) Teahon of Gothenburg; three daughters, Peggy (Mel) Andersom and Deanne Halstead, all of Merna, and Tracey Teahon of Anselmo; one sister, Arlene Edwards of Rialto, Calif.; one cousin, Jim (Ruth) Fagan of Anselmo; 12 grandchildren, Dan (Shannon) Teahon of Ashland, Derrick Anderson of Broken Bow, Leanne (Adam) Wahl of Ashland, Melissa (Tom) Kirkpatrick of Scottsbluff, Shawn (Kyle) Stringham of Kearney, Anthony (Samantha) Halstead of Pleasanton, Dustin Teahon of Scottsbluff, Heather Teahon of Kearney, Casey Halstead of Merna, Joel, Heidi and Jaci Teahon of Gothenburg; nine great-grandchildren, Paige, Jacob and Ayva Teahon, Keena and Kodee Wahl, all of Ashland, Jaydin and Colin Kirkpatrick of Scottsbluff, and Breven and Cayden Anderson of Broken Bow.   Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie; infant daughter, Mary; sisters, Marjie Brown, Monica Teahon, Lucille Johnson and Betty Ann Stolt; two granddaughters, Morgan and Johanna Teahon and one grandson, Jesse Horjs.   File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ne/custer/obits/t/teahon51gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nefiles/ File size: 3.4 Kb
