Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway with the Revs. Paul Colling and Antony Thekkekara con-celebrating.   Visitation was held Monday, April 6, 2009, at St. Boniface Catholic Church.   Burial with Military Honors was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway. Survivors include his son, Bo (Stacey) Whaley of Kearney; two sisters, Beverley Fellers and Valerie Martinez , both of Lexington; three grandchildren, Grace, Cade and Margaret Mae Whaley of Kearney; one sister-in- law, Betty Whaley of Papillion; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.   Arlen was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rodney.  He was born Nov. 28, 1930, in the Stop Table community near Callaway to Sidney Benson and Ann Mary (Johnson) Whaley.   Arlen graduated from Callaway High School with the class of 1948. He then served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Upon his discharge, he attended Kearney State College.   He owned and operated the Country Club in Arnold then went to work for Harlan County Conservation near Alma. He then owned and operated several taverns around the state of Nebraska.
