George W. Ashford

George W. Ashford, banker and farmer at Homer, Nebraska, was born there July 13,
1875, the son of Thomas and Margaret (Duggan) Ashford. His father, who was a
farmer, was born in County Wicklow, Ireland, and died at Homer, April, 1907. His
mother was born in County Cork, Ireland, and died at Homer, Nebraska, in April
1916.

Mr. Ashford was graduated from the University of Iowa in 1899 with the degree
Ph. G. He is president of the Security State Bank of Homer at the present time,
and is active in civic affairs at Homer. He holds membership in the Woodmen of
the World, Modern Woodmen of America, Knights of Columbus, the Nebraskana
Society, and the Red Cross. He is affiliated with St. Cornelius Catholic Church
and is a member of the Democratic Party. His hobby is horses.

On December 15, 1908, he was married to Catherine McLaughlin at Lincoln,
Lancaster County, Nebraska; she was born at Lincoln February 22, 1878. They have
four children: William, born July 21, 1909; Catherine, born August, 1910; Helen,
born September 2, 1913; and Louise, born July 20, 1918. Residence: Homer.
