Abbott, age 46 of Cozad, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation for memorial book signatures will be held on Friday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Bert was born on Jan. 16, 1965 at Gothenburg to Thomas G. and Betty Jean (Borm) Huntsman. She attended Brady Public Schools before graduating from Brule High School. Following her schooling, Bert lived in Brule, Brady and Beaver Crossing. Bert was working as a waitress and bartender when she met her future husband, Dwain Abbott. The couple was united in marriage in 1992 at Cozad; they made their home in Beaver Crossing where she worked as a professional housecleaner. The couple returned to Cozad in 2009, where she worked at Pamida in Gothenburg and continued her housekeeping business. Bert is survived by her loving husband, Dwain Abbott of Cozad; two sons, Matthew (Chaz) Crandell of Hastings and Samuel J. Huntsman of Seward; three grandchildren, Aireonna, Cody and Draken; her parents, Betty Jean Huntsman of Brady and Thomas G. (Connie) Huntsman of Chillicothe, Mo.; a brother, Thomas (Cindy) Huntsman of North Platte; three sisters, Cathy (Rick) Brittenham of North Platte, Nita Way of Lexington, Boni Huntsman (Alvin Poen) of Gothenburg and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father-in-law, Kenneth Abbott.
