Lucile Anderson, age 89, of Gothenburg, formerly of Cozad and Eustis, died 
Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at the Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at the 
American Lutheran Church in Cozad with Pastor Terry Pool officiating.  A 
private inurnment will be in the East Cemetery at Eustis.

Visitation for memorial book signatures is Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 (today), 
at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.

Survivors include her daughters, Cathryn (Randall) Rupe of Eustis and Lois 
(Matthew) Stebbins of Honolulu, Hawaii; four grandchildren, Graham (Katie) 
Rupe of Omaha, Adriane Stebbins (Jeremiah Jackson) of Newport, R.I., Eton 
Stebbins of Lincoln and Wyatt Stebbins, who is currently on a mission trip in 
Costa Rica and Ecuador; a great-grandson, George Rupe; two brothers, Vern 
Bartruff and Robert (Evelyn) Bartruff, all of Eustis; four sisters, Doris 
(Robert) Hotchkiss of Fergus Falls, Minn., Betty Rieker of Farnam, Marjory 
(Kenneth) Kugler of Johnson Lake and Diane (Danny) Easterday of Eustis; a 
sister-in-law, Karen Wahl of Elwood; a brother-in-law, Edwin Wahl of Lincoln 
and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews.  
   
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Urcel Bartruff; 
granddaughter, Amelia Cathryn Rupe; two brothers, Junior and Lloyd; and a 
stepsister, Patricia Taylor and her husband, Marvin.

She was the first child born to Otto and Sophie (Yeutter) Bartruff in a 
farmhouse north of Eustis on Dec. 1, 1918. She was baptized and confirmed in 
the Eustis Methodist Church.  She attended rural school north of Eustis and 
graduated with the last class in the old Eustis High School building in 1936. 

She married Lorenz Wahl on Dec. 27, 1945, after he returned from World War II. 
On March 16, 1974, she married Harland “Harley” Anderson. Harley died in 1978.
